  • Index for Bonds/Notes

Is there an index that follows the bonds (US) or the notes (TY)?

    Bruce

P.S. I tried $TYX but it only shows the actual +/- of interest rates and I was looking more for the +/- in bonds or notes

This info. can be tracked through eSignal via the Garvin Bond data service, however this isn't a normal index as the $TYX or other free index. Instead, it is a professional bond quoting service and has a $50/mo. charge associated with it. If you are interested in adding this, you can do so using Account Maintenance. Here's the most common Garvin Symbols if you need them.

    30yr Treasury = TRE Z3-GB
    10yr Treasury = TRE Z0-GB
    5yr Treasury = TRE Y5-GB
    2yr Treasury = TRE Y2-GB

    6 Month T-Bill = BIL M6-GB
    3 Month T-Bill = BIL M3-GB

      Jay:

There isn't any index I know of that tracks the price of the bonds and notes. Only the interest rates... i.e. $TYX (as you previously mentioned.)
