  • Japanese Yen Contract - Wrong Prices

Hi, I use e-Signal (via its API) in conjunction with an automated trading system.

The prices for the Japanese Yen futures contract (6J) are out by two decimal places.

For instance, e-Signal sends me a price of 0.9064 when in fact, the price should be 0.009064

Needless to say, this plays havoc with my automated trading system.

The Japanese Yen is the only futures contract that this happens with.

    Can this be fixed?

Thanks for the report. We have been able to duplicate this both in the API and with our DDE interface, and we will investigate this further with our engineers.

The reason for quoting in this fashion is that we are quoting in Yen per Cent as opposed to Yen per Dollar. Both the Wall Street Journal and Barron's also report the Yen Futures in the same way, so we are adhering to that standard. If you'd like to convert it to Yen/Dollar, then I suggest just dividing the quote provided by 100.
