How to draw a perfectly horizontal trend line

Drawing a perfectly horizontal line seems to work most of the time when not using the magnet. I've noticed that drawing a horizontal almost never works when using the magnet. A post form last year says there's no workaround. Is it really true that you can't force a line horizontal?
