  • Computer Load

When a tick chart is loaded during the day, the bars are loaded and the EFS study is computed. When I scroll backwards there appears to be an initial loading of a fixed amount of data and not the entire day. When I reach the end point of the data, the system appears to freeze up while more data is loaded and then the EFS is updated. This can be done numerous times untill all data is loaded.

If I delete the chart and reload it later in the day, does this mean there will be less data and less of a load on the computer. How would I check what the load is on the computer and when I might be approaching capacity?

    Best Regards,

This is the DYNAMIC loading process that is the default for esignal charts. You can modify these defaults by creating and using a custom time template.

The custom time templates allow you to create and maintain a FIXED AMOUNT of data in the chart. You need to understand that more data in the chart means more memory use by esignal and possibly slower loads of your efs.

There is a 2DAY time template that is included with any esignal install. I suggest you try this and see if it resolves your issues.

Another thing to consider is that TICK and VOLUME charts continue to accumulate data (if left running for many days). This can also slow down esignal. It would be wise to close and restart esignal every few days to clear out older data from the charts.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you for the help. Is there a way to monitor the usage of the RAM to determine if more is needed?

      Best Regards,
