DDE from non-Excel application

Hello,

I'm trying to setup a DDE link from a client application (.net based) to receive quotes (LAST) from the DataManager.

The application connects fine to esignal, using:

Server=winros
Topic=Last

I set the item to 'AX U9-DT'

I started a hot Advise Loop but I'm not receiving any Advise events in my application.

When I set up an Excel DDE like =winros|Last!'AX U9-DT' the data is updated as it should.

I'm not using the ActiveX plugin from Esignal (as DDE is not ActiveX)

My question is if other applications than Excel are blocked from receiving DDE messages ? Or what else might be wrong ?

I'm not aware of any restrictions with our DDE topics nor any programs that are blocked per se. As I'm sure you know, DDE is no longer supported by Microsoft and our DDE links haven't changed much in 15+ years. Good to see a the link does populate with data, that would indicate entitlements should be OK.

Hopefully another user has some thoughts.
