  • Data and backtesting

1 - The historical Intraday data seems to be not available for more than a few months. I have made repeated attempts to retrieve older data than this with no success; I want to backtest some intraday systems so I need more data. What should I do?

3 - Is it possible to backtest renko, PB or kagi charts (using intraday data)? How can I do it?

    Thanks

    Joe10,

120 days of standard intraday history available in eSignal's Advanced Charting and in most Third Party applications. KB Article 1203 give the complete breakdown of historical data.

Extended intraday data is available as an add-on service and can add the service via Account Maintenance for users who want to do more extensive testing.

Yes it is possible to use the Renko, Kagi and PB charts for backtesting. A understanding of how to read the charts and the method behind using them to successfully enter the market is needed to properly execute the Trade Functions for your backtesting scenario.
