Is there a way to place a bollinger band study in a lower indicator panel by itself?

You can do that through efs by setting the study to plot as a non price study ie by using a setPriceStudy(false) statement in the preMain function. For the description and syntax of the function see the Function Reference folder in the EFS KnowledgeBase
