  • only 1 instance per PC?

    Hi.

Being in and out of eSignal services since 2004, this week I've subscribed it again.

I confess that it was nice to have access to some of the features that eSignal software have.

But something happened that I wasn't expecting.

I use Multicharts as my chart software and when I opened a chart in MC, eSignal software stop giving me access to data, and Data manager became red.

I remember a couple of year ago using eSignal software and Metastock together without any type of problems and now I see that I can't "feed" both programs with 1 eSignal subscription?

What happened? I thought it was only permitted 1 subscription per computer, not per program.

Is there a way to solve this?

    Regards.

    Hi.

    Just to update the situation.

Apparently, there's some sort of incompatibility between eSignal and Multicharts

When I call a symbol on Multicharts it is filled, but if eSignal software is open at that time, Data Manager will block the password, leaving eSignal software unable to access data.

The weird thing is that despite of Data Manager "red" conditon, MC continues to have access to data, but eSignal software don't

    How can this be?

    Regards.

        Hi Alexis.

        This is really strange.

If the problem is not being generated by Multicharts then it's some kind of computer glitch, which complicates things because it will be a lot more difficult to discover what is the cause

          PTC Man,

I'm not sure of the process you're using to connect eSignal to Multicharts but it seem that when you try to connect it's passing an invalid username to the Data Manager.

Please make sure that you have the same username and password in the Data Manager, eSignal and Multicharts.
          Thanks

            Hello.

That cross my mind , but the thing is, where do I put my eSignal user and password in Multicharts?
QuoteManager don't have any settings for the esignal feed dll.

When I request a symbol on Multicharts, Data Manager opens automatically.

            Regards

Are you perhaps subscribed to eSignal OnDemand? This product has limited set of features at a reduced price, and one of the restrictions is 3rd Party Software is not allowed with this product type.
              Regards,
              Jay F.

                Hi Jay.

I had an onDemand subscription, but it was cancelled last week and substituted by a premier subscription.

I confess that the user and password of the onDemand service is the same as the premier subscription, since I subscribed one at the same time I cancelled the other.

If the password is the issue here, the reason for Data Manager disconnects the Multicharts connection is eSignal responsibility since your servers still associate my password to the onDemand service and not the premier service.

Before I change my password and user name I'd like to ear your thoughts on it Jay.

                Regards.
