  • How to handle symbol change

I am trying to figure out how to handle when the symbol for a security changes. For example, a lot of Canadian Income Trusts are changing over to corporations. This results in the symbol changing from a .UN-TC to just -TC.
For example, ALA.UN-TC recently changed to ALA-TC.
So when I graph ALA-TC I don't get much data, however when I graph multiple symbols it looks ok, but does not work for moving averages and other studies. Is there a way to tell esignal that this is the same security and for it to be handled as one?

    Thanks,
    NC

Generally we received notice of symbol changes from the exchanges. However if you come across a symbol that's changes and we have not updated or merged the old symbol with the new you can send a request via Questionable Price Link or click on Report a Questionable Price under the Support menu in eSignal. Once received our Data QA will verify the report and make the necessary correction with merging the data together.
