  • Error Message using spread symbols settings

I am trying to create a spread symbol using the "Spread Symbols Settings" option but keep getting a message that says"Error. This name is already an existing symbol" . Using other combinations of letters to create a symbol generate the same error message. What do I do ?

There currently is a bug related to creating new spread symbols.

It relates to a server-side upgrade and engineering is working on a fix. It'll probably take several weeks to get rolled out to the servers though.

    There is a work around:

Disconnect your Data Manager (DM) and you'll be able to create new spread symbols within the program.

Exit the program and save the changes (i.e., save your spreads) and relaunch eSignal. The newly created spreads should now populate.

The key part is to not be connected to the Data Manager when creating a spread symbol.
