Spread symbol problem

Please help,
When I am trying to create a spread using the spread symbols setting toolbox, I keep getting a message saying that " Error - this name is already an existing symbol". I find this hard to believe considering I have tried all manner of names eg f8u4c9k3 and other clever combinations! ANy suggestions?

This is a bug that our Developers are aware of and working on.

For a workaround if you close only the Data Manager and create the custom symbols with the formulas you want in the Spread Symbol Setting Window and close the window.

Open the Data Manager and enter the custom symbols into a Quote Window or Charts to get data on them
