Anyone have any troubleshooting tips on getting my sound alerts to trigger?

I tried a bunch of them in their file folder and they all worked properly. There seems to be some communication hiccup between my charts and the folder, but I'm at a loss for how to fix it.

    Appreciate any help.

    sounds alerts not working

Are we talking about eSignal 10.6 or 11? Also, are you running Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7?

If you could also let me know if the pop up for the alerts is happening and it's just not the sound that's going off.
    Thank you,
    Eric O.

      Hi Eric,

The pop-up alerts work just fine. It's only the sound.
      I'm running esignal 11 on windows 7.

      Thanks.

        alert sounds

The alert files haven't been moved right? If they have been moved from their default location this can cause an issue. If they haven't then I'm not sure what the issue is at this time. We may have to have a tech support rep take remote access of the system to get a better idea of what is happening. If at all possible please contact tech support using the following link. If this isn't possible or you would like me to set up a time to have one of our reps contact you, we can do that as well.

I'm confident that we can get this fixed for you.

        Thank you,
        Eric O.

No the alerts files are all in their original folder. I'll go ahead and contact tech support like you suggest. If they find a solution I'll post an update.

          Thank you.

I have an update and a solution for future reference. If steps 1-4 don't work for you add steps 5&6.

Tech support directed me towards the following:
            1) Control panel
            2) Hardware and Sound
            3) Change System Sounds
            4) Under Program Events change exclamation to the sound you want from eSignal sound alerts. (my Documents/Interactive Data/Sound alerts)

Although this didn't immediately work (Tech support was/is supposed to send me an email with a solution) I found that after I restarted both my charts and pc every sound my pc made was the one I selected from step 4. Finding this very annoying I changed it back to exclamation and then discovered that the various sound alerts on my charts were now working. Therefore....

            5) Restart your charts/computer
            6) Change the eSignal alert in system sounds back to exclamation.

I know it's a bit ambiguous, but that's how I got it to work.

Hope that helps anyone who might have a similar problem. And thank you Eric and Tech support for pointing me in the right direction.
