  • Display Study Parameters

When you select a built-in study, like a moving average, you don't seem to get the parameters to show -- at least I can't figure it out. Something like "Moving Average (sma, 20)."

    Can we get that added?

I use a variety and I always forget what's on my chart as I flip around. Thanks.

    study displays

I think I understand what you mean, but please correct me if I'm wrong. If you have more than one moving average on a chart you want to be able to see on the chart itself what periods the various moving averages are without having to double click on them?

This would go for other studies as well. I have put in this request for you to our developers.
    Thank you,

I once wanted something like what I think he means. I think you can get it in the Data Window after checking Input Values for Studies in Chart properties.

Completely forgot about this option. That is correct and it will display the values for the studies on the charts.

@Rla1js - Does this option work for you?
        Thank you,

I was actually looking for it to show up as part of the study title on the chart itself -- when you check "show study titles" in the status line, chart properties, menu. In the old version, what shows up in the data window used to show up as part of the study title.

Right now, I only see "Moving Average" as a study title. It would be nice to see "Moving Average(S,30,C)" instead. This does show up for all my studies that I have written, but not for the one built-in study that I use.

I don't actually use the data window since it clutters up my workspace and the actual (last) value shows on the right axis anyway.

I just select a moving average from the built-in studies. If you use multiple averages on one chart -- and they differ across charts -- have the actual settings showing up as part of the study title is a quick way to see what is on the chart.

          Thanks.

I hear ya. I've requested this be added as a feature. I will update once I get some more information

15 years ago in an old local version of Reuters I asked them to let you be able to drag the study titles and status line in whole to an empty space within the chart in order not to cover up the price bars. It was much more conveinent after they changed it. I don't use studies other than volume, but I see that many users use quite a few to where the titles could really get in the way should you want to draw a trend line or whatever. You might want to consider adding this function.
