  • Synchronization issues on Volume and Tick Charts using same Symbol

I have found that for the same symbol and same interval setting using Volume and Tick you can start to see different results in all the indicators. The price is the same, however the bars look slightly different because of the synchronization.

This is obvious on Volume related charts as you can see the countdown to be different.

Example use 1500V or 1500T setting on one chart of a futures symbol like ES H3 in one page
and use the very same chart in another page with the same symbol

Time related intraday like minute is ok.

Exiting and reloading Esignal does not correct the problem. I have to delete the charts and start new one. however soon enough within a day they get ourt of synch.

What can be done to correct this problem. It is highly annoying and frustrating when you want to trade of these charts. any help would be appreciated.

1500T or 1500V charts are going to be a slightly different than a time related charts because of corrections, insertions and deletions. These are done on intraday time charts, but are not done on tick based charts. If you close and reopen the program and any of these have occured then the 1500T or 1500V charts will load the now corrected data which is why this seems to fix the issue.
    Thank you,

I am comparing a 1500V chart next to another 1500V chart for the same symbol side by side and from one page to another.

If I interpret what you say, let's say I have a chart and am showing say 1500T and another side by side say showing 5min intraday for the same symbol with the same time zone and then I change to say 1500V on both then comparing I could have different looking price bars and indicator information?

And then even reloading the whole page or exiting esignal and reloading it will not correct itself so that both charts can show the same volume chart data?

        Hello Robert,

I apologize for the delay, but I needed to fully test the scenario and understand the question to properly answer it for you.

From the information given I’m not seeing any type of discrepancies in the charts before or after the test
        Yesterday I created 3 pages
        Page 1 -- Two 1500V Charts
        Page 2 -- Duplicate of Page 1
Page 3 -- One 5 minute Chart and One 1500T,
Waited 24 hours and compared the charts. All the prices on the chart were the same

After comparing the data we changed the interval on both charts of page three to 1500V. We found both the chart to be duplicates one other. Once again no discrepancies found.

If you're seeing any type of data issue on your charts please contract our Technical Support Department so they can check your setting and continue troubleshooting.

        Thank you,

I believe I have found the cause of the problem on V volume charts. It realtes to one particular chart I have that also has the instruments $trin, $tick and $Vix.

During market hours I have this displaying in 5min mode with the market internals. When out of market hours I turn off all the market internals and run it in Volume mode with my indicators. The remaining volume never matches other charts that do not have any instruments within them.

I have removed and created a new chart on the above set up and get synchronization with other similar volume based charts for a while before it goes out of sync.

Is this to be expected - or can it be corrected?

            Robert,

As EricO previously stated in the prior post there are going to be times that inserts from the exchanges will cause charts not to match and the only way to correct this is to refresh the them.

              Avery,

I have tried reloading the whole page with chart on. Exiting and restarting eSignal to no avail.

My only recourse is to delete the offending chart and start with a fresh one.

My observation is that once the chart gets out of sync this way no way to get it back it becomes hard coded. Maybe its only a problem I am experiencing as no one has been able to recreate the problem.

              Anyway thanks for the advice/feedback.

              Robert
