  • decimals for symbol

    Hi,

Typically when I open a $INDU chart I get two digits after the decimal. Today on one computer I am seeing one digit and on another two digits (same interval and of course symbol).

I have searched a bit, but can't see how to define how many digitis to display after the decimal and am curious if I am missing something, or if this is a data issue at the server level.

Anyone have any insight? I need this to be two digits so that I can export data to an other program.

    Thanks!

I was suspicious when 5 minutes went by and there was no reply, but now a bit over three hours later and no reply confirms it. Alex must not be by his computer tonight ;-)

      Hi Garth,

I took a look and I have two decimals on $INDU on my regular RT account. I have a second account which is delayed, and that also had 2 decimals on $INDU as well. I suspect Microsoft may have their hands right in the middle of your problem.

      Regards,

I don't believe there is a way to define how many decimals are shown on the chart.
If after restarting both the program and the Data Manager you still have the same issue the only thing I can think of is that the chart itself (or the default chart) are perhaps corrupted.
Try closing eSignal and moving default.ach out of the eSignal directory and see if that changes anything.

        PS. Your suspicions were correct.

eSignal is quoting $INDU to THREE decimal places for me today. It was quoted to two decimal places yesterday, and every prior day.

          I am also now getting 3 decimal places for $SOX, $BKX, $BTK, $COMPQ, $XAU, $HUI, and $TRAN.

Edit: After a shutdown and restart of eSignal, I am back to 2 decimal places on all of the above.

            Thanks for the help everyone.

I'm fairly sure its a server issue now. Is there a way to force the data manager to connect to a new server?

restarting doesn't seem to do it in a reliable way.

            Thanks again,

OK, I did one more test and now have changed my mind...its not the server. I went nto the data manager itself and requested a $INDU quote and got two digits....hmmm.

Guess I'll delete the default.ach as you suggest Alex and see what happens.
