  • Backtest data limits

I recently used 1 min intervals on "ES H3" and was able to scroll the chart window to the left until I reached 12/26/02.

I wanted to look and backtest data in 10/11/02.

What determines the limit of bars I can down load?

The object is to get standard data to test, so as to increase the return from our backtest script.

As of now eSignal provides only 60 days of intraday data which means that
12/26/02 is as far back as you could go.
At some point in the near future they will be offering in excess of one year
of intraday data and then bulding that up to a maximum of two years.
Having said that in the case of the specific contract you were using you
would have not had any useful data prior to 12/12/02.
