Need easy way to jump to a certain date without scrolling?

How is this accomplished? Say I want to start looking at a certain date in the past. How can I jump there without scrolling?

In version 7.7 this is now possible by right clicking the chart, selecting Tools->Go To Date...

This is going to be a very helpful feature for me. But please help me here again: Not enough data seems to be in the memory, so how do I adjust a symbol's time template please?
