regarding 7.6

Hi ,

I found that 7.7 is very very slow these few days, and I just tried the other PC which was installed with 7.6, and found that 7.6 is running rather smoothly and giving me quite a quick response.

For example, it took more than 5 minutes for me to set an alert, but on 7.6, the pop up box just appeared right after my click.

May I know why is the reason that this happened and how about 7.8?

There are a many number of things that can cause slow performance with eSignal in general. We haven't had any bulk reports of 7.8 being slow to respond so I would definitely upgrade at your earliest convenience. You may also want to read through the following article from our Knowledge Base. This basically addresses some of the common causes for slowdowns and their corresponding solutions. Due to the number of possible causes, it may come down to a process of elimination until the offending issue is resolved.
