Is there any way to set up a formula and then trade it automatically? I thought I had seen that advertised but don't see any info about it now that I'm using eSignal.

There is actually a lot of documentation regarding automated trading with EFS formulas and coded strategies. This is actually one of the more difficult things to accomplish with EFS, but one the most powerful. Here are a couple of resources you may want to check out.

You may also want to check the DOCS folder in the main eSignal directory on your computer. Within that folder, we have written several documents that explain some of the nuances of passing orders from EFS to the respective broker. Hopefully these two resources will get you started.
