  • Continous contracts

    Hi,

Esignal 7.9 now offers continous contracts for international futures that were unavailable in previous versions.
How would one access these continous contracts from a 3rd party app. Ive tried eg AX 1!-DT and a few others without success.

    regards,

You can use the new continuous contracts only with eSignal software (versione 7.9 or later) as they are created at the client software level not server level

      Alex,

so you are saying that esignal loads each contract and adjusts them internaly to a continous contract. That means if i enter AX 1!-DT it loads AX M5, AX H5, AX Z4....
If so im wondering how thats done, since i dont get any data for the old contracts like AX H5-DT.

      regards,

That is essentially what it does.
As to retrieving expired contracts you need to use a symbol with a different syntax ie
[root symbol] [month code][4 digit year code]-[exchange (if applicable)]
For example DAX March 2005 contract is available as AX H2005-DT
