esignal won't start and crashes my computer

I just downloaded and installed eSignal 7.9 wanting to try it out. But when I attempt to start the program I get the error message box, "Winsig: This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the vendor." After pressing OK, my computer freezes up and I have to reset it.

I'm using Win98SE.

Any ideas.

7.9 had an incompatibility problem with a few of the Internet Explorer versions on older operating systems.

Try downloading 7.9.1 from the website instead?

I just installed 7.9.1 and it also freezes up my computer so that I have to reset. The only difference is that I did not get the error message first.

Any other ideas?

Were you using a previous version of eSignal?

Windows 98SE is not a supported operating system. We recommend running Windows XP or Windows 2003 at this point.

No I haven't used eSignal before. I was just wanting to try it out.
