  • eSignal should implement a self-testing tool

to find out and correct those errant data such as today's bogus 09/05/05 data for $INDU as well as some obvious out of range price spike in its database. Solely relying on the user reporting the incorrect data is not a good solution. Such automatical testing should not be difficult for eSignal to develop. Reporting incorrect data spike or bogus data set duing trading hour is so annoying and distracting.

    Hi Clearpicks,

May sound easy on the surface but programming for automatic data integrity is actually quite complex.

We are working to support CID's (Correction, Insertions and Deletions) so if the Exchange sends a bad tick, then replaces it with the correct value, our systems will automatically make those changes, something we can only do manually at present.

We expect full support for CID's by early 2006. Not all International Exchanges support CID's so it mostly improves our US data.

    Thanks.
