  • Bond Rate Spread Question

    Hi all,

I'm trying to chart the differences bewteen U.S. bond rates of different maturities. So far, I found the symbols for the 5, 10 and 30 rates, $FVX, $TNX, and $TYX respectively.

    So my question is.......

Are symbols available for shorter term rates? Such as 3 month, 1 year, 2 year... and even 1 month or overnight for that matter.

    Thanks !!!

There is the $IRX, which is described as a short-term interest rate. It is presently at 4.70, which is lower than the 3-month Treasury bill yield, so I don't know what it represents.

I'm assuming that's the discount rate then, so not equivalent to the TNX, etc.?

I believe that is correct. More information can be found in this page from the CBOE
