  • Loading Symbols into Quote Window

    Hi

Is there any way that I can automatically load symbols into an eSignal quote window? For example it would be good to just be able to open a quote window with all the Nasdaq100 stocks displayed or to open a quote window with all the stocks listed for a particular group. Also I don't know if there is a way of displaying a particular stock symbol's sector, be helpful if you could just right click a symbol & get a sector/group chart for that stock.

Also where can I get a stock's date & time for its earnings report, I need to be able to quickly find when an announcement is pending or a calender with the earning's announcements displayed, I can't find any facility for this within eSignal.

    Any suggestions welcomed

I am not sure what you mean with "automatically" anyhow if you have a text file with the list of the components of an index you can import that directly into a Quote Window. Also you can set up the Quote Window to apply dynamically any changes you may make to the text file. For information on this functionality see this post by DuaneG
With regards to the Nasdaq100 components you can find a ready made Quote Window here
Many more preset Quote Windows are also available here

      Hi Alexis

Thanks for the reply, some useful information there, in fact pretty much what I wanted! I would still like to know how I can pull up a chart of a particular stock's group or sector, I guess there's no way of doing that from within eSignal, at least I have'nt found one yet, also I need to find an efficent way of getting the date & time of an issue's earning announcement.

      Any ideas on this appreciated

        Jon,

Regarding charting sectors or groups, you may want to refer to the iShares or other ETF's that represent that group or sector. For listing/charting individual stocks that are part of a group or sector I would suggest trying out the Hot Groups Scan linked to an Advanced Chart or Quote Window. Please note that the eSignal Scanners are an add-on to eSignal. More information about those packages can be found here.

Here's a few images of that window type to further assist.
