  • Sector or Industry Information

Anyone, does the eSignal provide information regarding what industry or sector a particular stock is a member of? What about the Desktop API?

    Thanks.

    Hi ddresser,

Thanks for the post. These fields are not part of the Quote or Detail windows per se, but they are available via the Research menu by right clicking from the Quote Window. I've included the following screenshots as an example of how to access that data.

How can I drag the Compustat Browser window off of the eSig Layout Window so I can size it up and read it? I keep my main layout window pretty small and float almost all my charts and quote windows on other monitors, so the Compustat browser is too small to effectively view, and I don't see how to undock it from the eSig window.

        Duane,

Is there a way to obtain a list of all stocks in a particular industry? In the DELL example that you gave, this would be a list of all stocks in Computers & Peripherals.

I am thinking of switching over from Quote.com's QDP, which you are discontinuing, but will need to be certain that this information is available before I do.

        Thanks.
        Don

          Hi Checkraise,

There isn't a way to float the Compustat window outside of eSignal to another monitor. I'll submit this over to the Product Development Team as a possible feature enhancement for upcoming versions.

Thanks for doing that Duane. In the meantime I have found that after opening the tiny Compustat browser window inside of eSig, the URL is added to my browser's History, so I can then open up a large browser outside of eSig and navigate to the Compustat page thru the browser History.

ddresser - not sure in what form you need the sector and industry info, but below are 2 Yahoo links that look pretty thorough.
