  • Dual core or Quad core processors

    Hi,

Will eSignal performance be enhanced by a dual or quad core processor?

I guess the question is whether eSignal is multi-threaded or single-threaded.

Even if eSignal is single-threaded, the multitasking capability of the new Intel dual or quad core processors should help in the overall performance. I'm wondering if anyone can share their experience if they have used eSignal in the dual/quad core environment.

Perhaps eSignal corporation has conducted some test of their own as well. If now, I think they should.

    Thank you.

Last I heard eSignal was not multi-threaded. However that doesn't mean it can't benefit from multiple core (or multiple processor) technology. eSignal itself has a data gathering and a chart rendering process (two different heavy weight processes), and as Windows gets more and more bloated, it has more and more services that run in the background.

    Regards,
