  • Another DST question for MS 2000

My data manager (D.M.) reads GMT –8 PST whereas CA is now –9 GMT and PDT. How do I get the D.M. to read –9 GMT? I have to uncheck the synch to keep the D.M. from resetting the computer clock back. (No, I do not have a patch for my OS MS 2000 as I did not want to load some patch off the net that may be questionable. I just manually set the computer clock to the correct time.)

PDT is actually GMT -7 and not GMT -9 while PST is GMT -8. To confirm this see this page at GreenwichMeanTime.com or this page at their US mirror site.
The reason the Data Manager is showing GMT -8 PST is because that is the current TimeZone of your computer since you have not yet applied the DST fix to your operating system
To download the win2k Time Zone Editor directly from Microsoft click here then follow the instructions provided on that page.
