  • bug?

I added a new advanced chart and applied $HighFive-xxx.efs
( which can be found at http://share.esignal.com/groupconten...r=&groupid=136 )
to it. After saving the layout and restarting eSignal, it always gives an error message and if I click the "close" button and "don't send" buttons, the eSignal exits automatically. The error seems caused by bugs in js32.dll and/or winsig.exe. If the layout doesn't include the advanced chart with $HighFive-xxx.efs, then eSignal works find. Therefore I suspect there are some bugs in the API used by those HighFive efs'. I checked the HighFive codes and find the API "drawTextPixel" is not used in my own efs'. Also "askForInput" and "FunctionParameter" are not used by my other scripts. Does anyone else experience this problem? If so, can someone look into these API's and verify whether it is caused by the above API's?

    What build are you using?
You need at least build 571 (which was a 7.3 beta) or better yet version 7.3 (build 588) to run those scripts.
FWIW they are working fine here (see image below)

I am using 7.3r1 downloaded from the main page of eSignal.
The efs' work fine. But the problem is that it seems causing layout problem. If my layout includes them, eSignal can not start next time. Could you try to input some parameters in the morning call efs and save the chart and layout, then check whether the problem will be reproduced. It is hard for me to debug it because the problem is caused by layout file.

        clearpicks,

I'm currently having no problem with saving a chart with $DTA-MorningCall.efs, saving the layout, shutting down eSignal, and starting back up.

Have you tried creating a new Layout with just 1 chart and just that EFS? Is that same problem occurring then? Is this limited to only $DTA-MorningCall.efs and the $High-Five-xxx.efs'?
