email alerts through Yahoo Plus

I'm trying to set up email alerts in esignal and I'm having trouble. I have the yahoo plus paid service which gives me POP3 access.

This is running into outlook 2003 and works fine in POP3 mode.

I have added the yahoo pop and smtp settings to the alerts field in esignal but I'm still not getting any email alerts through.

Are there any known issues with authentication through yahoo's paid service?
