replay mode reprocesses all chart data

Per my previous email exchange with Michael A. in tech support, beginning at the time when data was reloaded in September, I have been unable to properly use replay mode on the S&P eMini Advanced charts. I sent a EFS code study which demonstrates the problem and which I understand that Michael has sent to you. I will also attach a snapshot of the formula output window which reflects the problem.

A brief description:
With each 1 minute advance of the replay chart, the entire loaded time of the chart is reprocessed. In other words, if 3 days are loaded and I advance the chart by 1 minute, the entire 3 days are again processed. The live charts work fine. The code which I sent represents a routine which I have used continuously for the last 2 years without problem.

How to use the code:
go to replay mode
load the study
open the formula output window
after the study loads, advance the chart and view the window.
you will see each bar reprocessed each time the chart advances.

Are you using Bar Replay or Tick Replay? Also, what version of eSignal are you currently using?

eMini S&P Replay mode

Hi Jason,

I'm using 1 minute bar replay.
eSignal version 10.0.0 build 859
I was using an earlier version of 10.0 when the problem occurred. I upgraded to the latest to see if the problem would go away.

eMini replay problem

To be sure I was reporting a real problem, I tried several different bar time periods as well as different contracts (Russell 2000 eMINI). I also loaded a version of my program which dates back several months and was working fine at that time.

All attempts got the same result, the problem still exists in every test.

Is it possible that the server I'm connecting to has the problem and is there some way to connect to another server?

Hello Faunt,

I have confirmed the problem you've discovered. It is related to an application change between 8.0 and 10.0. I will notify our product development team. Hopefully we can get this corrected in one of the next releases.

There was a different issue with bar replay in 8.0 where the graphics of the chart were not refreshing properly, which was fixed. However, this may be the culprit that has introduced this new problem. If the bar replay behavior of 8.0 is important to you, you may revert back to 8.0 for the time being.

I just dl'd the dec 07 build and it appears to have been fixed.
