  • Charts Data begins from the time I start esignal only

I am currently using the latest version of esignal and for some reason it only loads data for the day chart. This is only happening for nyse and nasdaq symbols.

It works perfectly for the Indian Exchanges. I have entitlements for all the exchanges I am trying to use.

Frankly it has been happening on and off but off late it has become kind of permanent.

its is quite painful frankly and I have not been able to find any solution.

Further more, before anyone suggests anything about my connection or comp. My connection speed is 8mbps and I have a good system.

I am currently open to trying anything else will just have to move on.. I love esignal but cannot live with these issues any longer.

    Cheers!!

Are you saying you can get daily charts on say, IBM, but not a 5 min or 15 min chart? Are you seeing the data update in a quote window during US market hours? Posting a screenshot might help as well.

    Thanks.

      Hi Scott,

Yes that is sort of the problem. Actually what happens is if I start esignal at 13:00 EST it will load the complete day chart but will only start plotting the other intervals starting from 13:00 EST (no data is loaded prior to that).
This is the chart for RIMM

This is the chart for $NIFTY-NSE

      Lemme know what you think.

      Cheers!!

        Hi,

I checked your account and you appear to have two distinct usernames. One has NYSE and NASD, the other does not. Can you confirm you are using the username that does not have the 2 at the end?

If you are using the one with the 2 at the end, that would explain what you're seeing. You can get EOD data but not intraday unless you add those two exchanges like you have on your other system.

        Thanks.

          Hi Scott,

I am definitely using the one without the 2 at the end. I am quite sure of it.

As i mentioned it plots the data during the market hours from the time I start esignal. It does not plot an of the data prior to that.

Thanks for taking the time to help.

          Cheers!!

            Dheer,

I am just looking into your connection now and see you are connected to the username with # 2 at the end.

If you are connecting to eSignal with different usernames on the same pc, please ensure you have the correct username/password under
File > Preferences > Connection within the eSignal application.

Please feel free to contact us via Live Chat if you require further assistance.

            thanks,
            Christine B.

              Hi Christine,

I use the one with the 2 at the end during the indian market hours. (i.e. 12.25 am EST - 6:00 EST ). And the one without the 2 to watch the north american markets (my parents use the one without 2 during indian markets and get confused easily so I switch between the two).

Anyways, I am attaching a short video with the problem. As you'll see I started esignal at 11.22:33 am EST today. And it is doind the same thing that I had explained.

              Regards,
              Dheer

                  Nifty video clip. Thank you!

For some reason, you are not connecting properly to a US equity tick server, hence the lack of data in your charts. It's not clear from the logs why you aren't connecting properly, just that you aren't.

Do you switch the usernames while running or do you exit/restart after changing? If you haven't restarted, please try that and see what happens.

I think we'll need to talk to you directly to figure this one out so if the problem persists, please give our support office a call.

                    Hey Scott,

I actually change my system clock time when I log on with the username with the 2 at the end (i adjust to +5:30 GMT during indian market hours) hence always change the username => exit and restart.

I have been having trouble with the US equity tick servers on and off from the time I registered with you guys but it was quite rare earlier.. now its permanent.

I will give you a call in a little while as I have to step out in a bit.

                    Regards,
                    Dheer

Seems strange to me but I'm sure we can resolve it. Our US offices are closed on Friday but our London and Australia offices are open. The US office re-opens Monday. When you get a Tech Support rep, please refer to this thread so they have some background.

                      Thanks.
