Can you access Menu from an external script?

I want to find a way to automate control of some of the advanced chart features available under the Advanced Chart menu.

I don't know how to go about this. I could create a macro that would pull down the menu in the same way as I would if I were doing it myself, but its hardly an ideal solution.

Is there a way of sending commands directly somehow, instead of going through the menu?

As a suggestion, you may like to try adjusting the programs windows shortcuts keys: Keyboard Customisation
You can then write a script which will execute the various shortcut keys you have assigned.

If that is not what you are after, then perhaps you could provide more detail e.g. exactly what you are trying to achieve? and for what reason?
