  • Shares Outstanding is incorrect

The "Shares Outstanding" field that can be placed on the market depth window shows incorrect data.

An example is Walmart. It is showing 4.38 million shares outstanding.

Also, if a field for the number of shares short, or short ratio, could be added to the list of available fields, it would be a tremendous help.

    Thanks

    n23mc,

Our Shares Outstanding is reported in 1000's, so 4.38M is actually 4.38 Billion. This can certainly be better documented, and I'll pass along the suggestion to do so along with the suggestion to add Short Interest.

      Jay,

I think there's more of a problem with the Shares Outstanding.

If you call up JBOH, which has 1.51 million shares outstanding, Esignal (7.4 build 606 is what I'm using) is showing "Shares: 1.00K".

Not only should the "K" be "M", but the "1.00" should be "1.51".

As an aide to tracking down the problem I can tell you the problem just surfaced within the past week. Before that everything was 100% correct.

Thanks for the additional information. I also see that discrepancy. I'll pass this along to our QA group to investigate further. I have heard that there may have been some difficulties with our fundamental data last weekend, and that could be the cause of this.

Just heard back that the fundamental data should be repaired by approximately 10:30am, Pacific Time.
