DDE link

I am not sure where to post this question, so please let me begin here. I am attempting to link a couple of different 3rd party software. #1 I try to establish a DDE with Excel and I get the pop up window stating that WINROS.exe can not be started. Does anyone know what the problem is here. I will leave it at this right now and maybe some of my other questions will be answered in the process, hopefully. I am using the formula: =WINROS|Close!"ES U3" to attempt the link with the e-mini and when I hit enter the message is that it is unable to start WINROS.exe???

The formula you want is...

=WINROS|LAST!'ES U3'

2 changes were required for this. LAST needs to be used instead of Close, and single quotes (') need to be used instead of double quotes (").

Thanks Jay,

I was not sure if there were spaces each side of the pipe and the single quotes but I tried it both ways and it finally hooked. I also was not sure if you were actually supposed to see the data in Excel and I guess you are because the last price is there.

I was hoping that this would answer some other questions, Unfortuately that does not appear to be the case. I am not sure if Elwave will hook directly with Excel or if you have to go thru TradeStation. The DDE formula I have for TS is: =OMEGA-SERVER|LIVEQUOTE!'ES U3,PC'

Jay are you familiar with this at all? Sorry for all the questions and I sure am grateful for the help here.

I'm unsure if Elwave can hook directly into eSignal either through DDE or another method. In looking through Elwave's site, it seems the only method to use it with our data is through Tradestation 2000i. Perhaps others here can comment further then I. In hopes of this, I'll move the thread over to the eSignal 7.x forum, where more eyes will see it.

Hey Jay,

Just got it hooked directly to eSignal. Still going to work on the 2000i aspect though. I had to use"C" instead of
"LAST " in the Elwave dialogue box.
