Where can I learn how to use the Market Profile? What do words like TPH,TPL and TPO mean? What do the thin and thick red vertical lines mean? Can I change the segment properties so that A stands for the 6:30 am time? Any way to change the color and size of the open and last blue arrows?

You can find lots of information on Market Profile on the CBOT site.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks.

Check out a book called Mind Over Markets by James F. Dalton, Eric T. Jones, and Robert B. Dalton. You can get it from Amazon.com, used for about $20.00.

Icorect market profile for US T-Bonds(CBOT)

In bond trading the intervals are: 8:20-8:49, 8:49-9:19, ... not 8:00-8:29, 8:30-8:59. The MP in CQG looks completely different. Next thing as I posted before in other post is the value area calculation is often not even close. There have to be a bug in calculation. Is any developer aware of this? I think you guys should stop selling MP chart and charging 7USD until it will work correctly. Right now it just confuse people and produce weird charts.

PS: hope somebody from tech. support/sales will respond to this.

Regarding the times of each segment, this was designed to reflect the ideas posted on CBOT's site. In the CBOT Market Profile Handbook, they give an example of a Market Profile on the US Bonds, and it uses the standard 30 minute segments starting at the top of each hour. Anything CQG is doing to adjust this is a non-standard setting for Market Profile.

Regarding the VA issue, I am researching this, and will post to the original thread once more information has been found.

Thanks for response. You are right. The explanation on CBOT and especially in the MP handbook is somewhat confusing. As I know everybody who is trading bond use those modified intervals. Otherwise is doesn't make sence for example concept of initial balance which should be 2 periods (first hour). In "standard segments" it gonna be 40 minutes which is big difference. BTW same adjustment for bonds have also ASPEN graphics and REUTERS. I hope you can understand this problem. It should be not that difficult to implement adjustable time segments or automaticaly adjust it for non standard futures. I really like esignal but if there is no intention to solve this problem I will be force to change. (Unfortunately ). Please let me know if you willing address this or your standpoint is final.

            Regards,

            Richard

I apologize if I came across sounding as if "that is the way things are and we're not moving". The opposite is the case. I'd be happy to pass this along to be considered for a future enhancement to our product. If you would like to add anything or wish to send a suggestion directly to our Product Development Team, you can email them at [email protected].

Thanks! This sounds promissing. I think new MP chart (still row version 1.0) is very very promissing and I glad to hear that you are open for ideas to make it really rock. (better than CQG )
