    cpu fix?

OK, what's the fix? I have a problem with the winsig.exe client consuming too much cpu. What's your fix? I've fiddled with the Windows XP Pro scheduler, and priorities, and... and so what's your idea?

        custom pc

I have a professionally custom-built pc: Asus P4s533 board, Pentium 4 single processor, Appian Rushmore 4-monitor graphics card, 1.5gb ram, running Windows XP Pro. Maybe if I'd gotten the dual processor, I could handle the load. I'm updating my video drivers now to see whether that may help a bit. What is your solution to the winsig.exe client cpu usage problem?

I am not sure if this will work on your pc? But I have a dell, when booting my pc I click the F2 key to go to my BIOS. In the bios I had to do the following.

          hit ALT-E listen for beep

          Hit ALT-F listen for beep

Hit ALT-B this will return your pc to windows. and fixed my problem bigtime. I know this works on all Dell pc's for XP PRO. ( Home probably too)

If not for you, you may want to contact the one who built your pc.

Basic description that dell told me this is for. Sometime when programs are added or removed your CPU usage get high. They did'nt give me a clear reason why. But, I downloaded esignal twice and it did the same thing just to test it. And yes it was the winsig.exe and one other part of esignal that caused this problem.

This action resets all your hardware ( does'nt change or hurt and drivers or programs). I hope this helps!

I tried everything and this was the only solution. When I mean everything I mean EVERYTHING. (Clean install of XP, drivers, Bios updates, deleted partition, on and on, you name it i did it!!!)

          Good luck,

Your PC has plenty of what it needs to run esignal unless you are running the world on it. I have similar hardware that you have on one of my pc's. The one I had a problem with!

I have a 1.8 GHZ pentium 1 channel, all else is similar. 512 Ram which is the minumum I would recommend.

I just bought a Dell workstation with 2 pentium4 xeon 3.0 GHZ/533 dual channels with 1 gig RAM.

It was a steal! I can run the world on it and it does'nt even phase it. I tryed pushing this PC to the max and it laughed at me!

P.S. If this works for anyone please reply so we can get esignal working on this problem. It seems to be pretty wide spread for 7.4 version

Down sizing the priority of eSignal

                Hello folks,

I've had my PC hang up while using eSignal so I go to the task manager and set the eSignal application and the data manager to lower priorities.

This seems to help during the day!

                  Hello,

Sorry to hear that you are having such problems. There are a few problems we have noted and have created a page under the FAQs, eSignal Windows section to assist in this situation. This is simply a suggestion list and may not "fix" everything, but it's worked very well with most clients I have helped.

Please take a look at the following:

Most problems may be resolved much quicker by calling in to our Technical support department as well.

Hope this works out for you.

                    Realm,

If you're out there I wanted to let you know that I attempted your fix with my dell machine. However, I couldn't get the number lock, caps lock and the scroll lock to remain locked while rebooting.

When I go into the BIOS I'm unable to activate the locks.

                    Also, I don't hear the beeps after ALT - E, ALT - F, and ALT - B.

Can you help me please, I would do anything to be relieved of the high cpu consumption I'm experiencing with this bloody winsig.exe.

                    Cheers mate.

Your intention was absolutely good but the solution you proposed a very risky one. Yourself knows that before touching the bios you should pray the almighty God .

I never ever touched BY MYSELF the bios, not even run the ASUS AUTO BIOS UPDATE.

I know you tried to help

                        Fabrizio,

I don't have any problems messing with my BIOS, not sure what the problem is your refering too. This is actually a very common procedure for Dell PC's.

                        Cpatte,

What type of PC specs do you have? How many efs's are you running? How many windows?

                          Hi Fibgann,

I'm trying to avoid another disasterous day where the winsig.exe totally hogs all of the cpu, thereby preventing me making a trade. A number of people have been having similar problems with winsig.exe which apparently hasn't been addressed by esignal engineers.

Anyway, I have P3, 1.80GHz and 384MB memory. According recent posts that should be adequate for winsig.exe to run without saturating my cpu.

Quite honestly, its drives me crazy that this problem has not been fixed. Even those people, like Bob and others who have spent $1000's upgrading still see no improvements.

If you can help resolve this issue I'm sure you'll make a lot of people very happy indeed.

                          Cheers mate.

                              Fibgann,

I'm only running 3 efs's per chart. And I'm only running 2 windows.

                              I also have cable modem.

Cheers Fibgann. If you can resolve this issue it would be wonderful.
