  • Can Two Charts be posted side by side?

I've been posting a number of charts in my file sharing section, and would like to post two different charts side by side for comparison.

Is there a way to do this other than creating a new layout with only those two charts and then uploading the whole layout?

I suppose that an 'area' function would be needed for this.

If I have understood your question correctly, yes you can do it with the
Snapshot applet by taking an image of the whole screen that contains the two
charts side by side and then use the Crop feature in the Snapshot applet.
To take an image of the whole screen move the Crosshairs of Snapshot to the
Title Bar of the app (instead of the Title Bar of the individual window).

      Alex,
      I'm not following you.

There is a snapshot button, which when activated, places a snapshot window (High, Low, Close, Net) onto the chart.

What applet are you referring to?
I checked all the pulldown menus and this is the only "snapshot" that is mentioned.

Regarding the crosshairs, I recall there used to be a way to save images from the workspace via a function on the FILE pulldown menu but that's now gone.

Look into your System Tray and you will find an icon that looks like a camera. That is the eSignal Snapshot applet I was referring to.
As an aside the Save Window as image and Save Application as image are no longer since the Snapshot applet has all the necessary features.
Anyhow when you click on the eSignal Snapshot that will open a window on your screen that contains a crosshair. You click and drag the crosshairs to a specific window if that is all you want to capture or to the Main Title Bar if you want to capture an image of the whole screen.
Once that is done then you have the added feature of cropping the image before posting it.

Ok, I got it.....the camera in the systray rather than the workspace.....but, my workspace includes some 20 windows spread out over two 22" monitors, capturing the entire workspace, then having to edit it in a window which cannot be increased in size makes this effort pretty much useless. I'd love to crop it, but the existing tool is like using a chainsaw to cut a pencil in half.

          Continued. next note. . . .

            So, just some comments:

            a) allow the editing window to be resizeable so that editiing can be done on an image larger than a thimble.

            b) or bring back the function that allows you to use the crosshairs to select an area of the workspace.

also, it would also be very useful to be able to view the cropped image prior to saving it. Otherwise, you have to capture the image, crop it and save it, open the cropped image to see what you actually got, then repeat until you have the image that you were hoping for, and an hour later, posting it to esignal central.

I realize that this is low on the pole of changes (after all, how many folks want to post more than 1 chart?), and in the end it was easier for me to just resize my workspace around the two charts I wanted to post, and then just capture that image rather than use the cropping feature. In the end, it comes down to:
            no big deal.

            Cheers.

In the interim - while someone looks at the possibility of enhancing the
Snapshot applet along the lines you suggest - you could use a screen capture
program like SnagIt - which allows you to select the area to be captured -
and then still use the eSignal Snapshot to post the image captured by
              SnagIt.
The eSignal Snapshot applet in fact works with anything that is on your
screen not just the eSignal application.
