  • Option Quote's

the option quotes sent by esignal do not have any decimal places. this makes trading option very difficult. it leaves on to guessing what the right price of the options is.

I'm guessing you're referring to future options as equity and index options do show decimals. You are mostly correct, future options do not display decimals if their underlying future does not. This is to remain consistent between the future symbols and the future options. If one displayed decimals while the other did not, then the confusion would be even greater, in my opinion.

There has been a long debate about whether we should decimalize or not, and I do not want to rehash that discussion. Instead, I'm just pointing out the reason for the way things are.

i am talking about futures and options data from esignal not having decimals. every data vendor i know of except esignal sends futures data with decimals in their proper places. even end of day data vendors send data with decimals.

you refer to consistency - it would seem that esignal would not broadcast indexes and stock with decimals if it were concerned about consistency.

i would imagine that if esignal was to stop broadcasting stock data with decimals many many customers would be very angry. why would you think that futures traders would not think the same.
