    Welcome to the wonderful world of PC interrupt conflicts. On some mainboards certain slots share interrupts with other slots. If boards are plugged into slots that share interrupts then their interrupts will need to be serviced through software arbitration. Usually it works, but it's best to avoid putting boards in slots with shared interrupts.

    A quick look at your manual or mainboard maker's support site may reveal the slots that share interrupts. Try to put boards on one slot or the other, but not both, for any that share interrupts in this fashion. Doing so will generally give better performance and system stability.
