  • Charts acting weird

Maybe one of the more technical savvy has an answer for me:
I am using only Forex charts and have downloaded the Pivotconsole. Now the weird thing is that this console only works on some of the currencie charts and on some it will not. It does not display weekly pivots on most pairs, but it will on a few.
I have asked the developer of the software, Chris Kyrza, but he is at a loss also. He send me a screenshot with his EUR charts and his console working just fine.
So I did install Esignal on a second computer, which never carried Esignal before. This is as pure as it can get. I am running here into identical problems. No other indicators were added to the chart just to be sure that nothing can interfere with the pivotconsole. But alas, it does not work properly.
Does anybody know what is going on here? Why would the console work fine on some currency charts, mostly on the crosses like GBP/JPY but not on the Euro or GBP etc... charts in two of my installations, when, on the other side, Chris has no problem with the console?

I will add now that the developer has send me his chart settings and I have tried them to no avail again.
I can get the Mexican Peso chart to work with the pivotconsole but not the Euro chart. This is most ridiculous. I have installed Esignal on yet another machine, as the developer suggested that even after installing on 2 different machines, the problem is on my side. Now the third computer has different software and hardware, but shows the same behaviour.
So what is wrong on my side, if I may ask? I am using three different computers, the deveoper's settings and Esignal lets me work with the Peso and Russian Rubel but not with the Eur or GBP? Absurd!
On top of that I am experiencing recently lag problems with chart updates and crashes and I have the creeping feeling that Esignal is not the most stable software out there. Not good if you want to make your money with Esignal and for the price I pay monthly I should be able to expect a stable platform.

      Hi Tekunda,

What version of eSignal are you running? I'm on an earlier beta 7.5 (build 620) and just downloaded the formula from Chris's file share. I also had no problems with it.

If you don't get it squared away over the weekend, I recommend calling into tech support. This link brings you to our contact page for our tech support number.

      Regards,
      Andy

AndyS, have you tried it with a EUR Forex chart also? As I mentioned earlier it seems to work with some charts, so it depends which chart you have used. If you have indeed tried the Euro chart then it will remain a mistery. It does not work on 3 different computers, which have totally different hardware and software and this is more than just a coincidence if you ask me.
Why would three computers act weird suddenly? BTW, I am using the official 7.4 version Build 608 and on the other 2 computers nothing was added, all default settings remained. We downloaded the version, installed it and installed the Pivotconsole. That's it.
The Peso will work on all 3 computers the EUR will not.

FWIW Chris Kryza's Pivot Console seems to be working without any problems at my end on EUR, GBP and on all the currency crosses I tried.

Alexis. this is totally weird. To find out what is going on I went to a friend of mine who I knew was in the process of building a brand new computer. So we finished the job and I asked him to install Esignal before he would install any other program.
I can truly say that Esignal and the console were installed on a "virgin" system.
Well, what do I need to say, it is not working with the Euro as the screenshots prove, but working with the EUR/JPY. Why would the program behave so strangely? Any ideas? Could it have to do that my Win XP is German? But it would still make no sense, why one curreny works and one would not and this on, in the meantime, 4 different computers.

Here is the screen shot of the crossrate. (It seems that all crossrates work fine, but not the majors)
I apologize for the bad screenshot of the Euro, but you can still clearly see that the lines will not go across the screen and if weekly pivot is choosen, all pivot lines will disappear altogether.

I thought I upload a better screenshot of the Euro.

I changed the settings of my template to replicate yours (ie Candlestick, 13 min, Dynamic, 00:00-24:00) and even then the Pivot Console seems to be working.
Having said that there is a difference between the two charts. In yours some of the data of the 14th seems to be dated for the 15th of November and the Pivots appear to calculate based on that. What time zone are you in?

Alexis, yes I can see the difference. I am in Germany, which is GMT +1. But what is strange is that most of the cross currency rates work fine, like the more "exotic" pairs like the Mexican Peso, but not the 4 Majors.
This somehow does not make sense to me and please forgive my stubborness, but I would really like to learn what is going on here. I could understand if all the charts would show the same problem, but only some? This is the multi-million dollar question, I assume.
