  • Tick charts issue with Certain Symbols

I have been experimenting with tick charts the last few days and I have come to the realization that my tick charts (advanced charts) work fine with ES but do NOT work properly on my -SI based contracts. Examples are TW X3-SI and the main market I watch... the NI Z3-SI.

Here is a picture of my ES #F Advanced tick chart which is working fine.

    ES #F 89T chart.

Now here is my NI Z3-SI 89T chart. Notice how it only displays the current day's ticks.

Go to Time Template->Edit and create a User Defined interval where T is the interval and where you set the desired number of days to be loaded (maximum is 10) as shown in the following image

Also enclosed is an 89T chart showing the last 6 days as per the above template

          Hi Alex,

          Thanks alot!
I didn't think it was a time template issue as ES was showing up fine. Any idea why that affected only NI Z3-SI? Thanks again!

It is possible that you just did not notice it due to the huge volume of ticks intrinsic to that symbol (especially when compared to NI Z3-SI).
If you scrolled back to the beginning of the ES chart you probably would have seen that the plot began on the current day.
Anyhow glad to hear you have it running

              Thanks Alex!

Just wanted to confirm at the same time that we cannot add Start and End times to tick charts? So all non-pit hours will always be included? Even with ES? It would have been nice to be able to control tick input hours since some of us prefer "Pit only hours" on our tick charts.

              Regards,
              Anson

That is correct. The Time Templates have no control over Start/End times with any of the tick based charts.
With ES (and NQ) you actually do have an option if you use the =2 extension (ie ES Z3=2) which will give you RTH session only.
