is there any way to get more data than 6 months? how can you conceivably backtest anything with only 6 months of data?

This is something that eSignal is well aware of, and I know they are looking into solutions. Hopefully, they will implement in the very near future. My suggestion to them was for at least 2 years intraday data for backtesting purposes.

At this point, there is no way to retrieve more than the stated amount of data, however, we are preparing our servers to handle more and look to expand upon the current 120 days in the near future.
