  • Need help to speed up retrieving data in TOS and charts

    Hello,
I just switched from AT Financial to Esignal. One major problem for me and other NYSE daytraders at my firm (Assent) is that when we try to type in new stocks that for example just show up on our filter, oftentimes it takes a couple of seconds to appear on the Times and Sales and Chart.

I tried to put the stock on the quote window and sometimes it seems that I can get faster retrieval. In AT Financial we will get instant information on chart and TOS. For traders that rely heavily on trading stocks coming out out filter with the intention of scalping (getting ahead of others people to sned out orders), this is a big problems.

Any ideas to resolve or get around this problems?
I trade stocks from my filter that contain about 1000 stocks. I don't know if creating a quote window with all 1000 stocks will slow down my systems but facilitate faster retrieval or not. Would appreciate anybody that has any experience with this.

    Thank you
    danjos

What type of PC do you have and how many windows are you running? Esignal charts are known to have a couple of second delays too. They have always been that way. Many have brought this to esignals attention, but I am not sure if anyone ever got an answer. I am still waiting for one.

I have 4 monitors and 1 PC with 2.1 MHz Pentium4 512 RAM. But even using only 1 monitor and opening 2 charts 1 times and sales, oftentimes I don't get instant data. The message : "requesting info..." appeared.
I cannot imagine if I fully use all 4 monitors and use a lot more charts (which I need to properly daytrade).
Do you think adding RAM will help?
I notice the RAM goes over 500 sometimes.

      Thanks

Your ram is good. Like I said Esignal has always had a delay (to my knowledge) with chart loading. Thats just the way it is. Until they address the issue.
