Esignal Internal Order Screen for TWS : Help !

On this subject eSignal sent me to IB, who sent me to eSignal, so you are my last chance.

eSignal have an internal order screen to send orders to TWS via API.

There Order Buttons are : BUY, SELL, SHORT

Please confirm my understanding...

Long Trade : BUY to get LONG, SELL to exit or place stop

Short Trade : SHORT to get short, BUY to exit or place stop...(not SELL)

There seams to be no documentation any where on the screen.

Please advise either a moderator or a Esignal user.

Your understanding is correct. However in practice, I have never noticed the difference between Sell and Short.

In my opinion, eSignal was right to send you to IB. The terms used are exactly the same as in TWS.

If you want to practice, please go to the IB website and use the DEMO to practice your understanding of TWS. Once you have a good comprehension of what is going on there, you will have little trouble using the eSignal connection via API.

You might even use the eSignal-IB integration via the Demo, although I have never tried this myself.
