Segments and Arrows

I'm trying to change the default on either SEGMENT/RAY so iy defaults to an arrow. It does not hold the default. I have had the same problem changing the default line thickness in the past so it must be something I am doing.

Can someone give me the order of changes I need to make so the changes are PERMANENT.

You cannot set the Ray or Segment icons to default to Arrow but you can set the Line icon (ie the one with the pencil) to default to an Arrow.
To do that right click the icon itself and from the dropdown menu select the Arrow and click OK. Also, you can set the default properties of all the Line Tools (color, thickness) in the same way.
