  • Serious problem with out of synch indicators

    Using 7.6, build 634.
Renko chart using multi-tick bars with MA in same pane. The average starts out correctly positioned (relative to the price bars), but as time passes, the average and the price chart move severely out of synch. This is true of other indicators in other panes as well.
    Regards, Will

This is a well known problem with esignal tick charts and I have pushed as much as I can to get it fixed (see links below). I was even assured by esignal that it was going to be fixed in 7.4, but wasn't.

I've seen several posts lately highlighting this problem and wish everyone that uses tick charts would complain. Indicators are fundamental to charting and drifting ones should be getting a lot more attention than any new feature.

Maybe someone from esignal can shed some light on the status of this problem.

      mtWokey,
Thanks I thought I had heard this problem before.
Like you, I assumed that ESig Would REPAIR the problem.
It is even more serious than I first thought. It is making tick charting so unreliable that I can't use it.
At the very least they could provide a "ReSynch button" that the user could click when they wanted correct signals.
      Regards

        FYI:

Although this issue has been on our development list, we have forwarded this thread, and all the examples contained within it, to our Director of Desktop Engineering so he can see first-hand that these issues require engineering resources to resolve.

        Thanks.

          ScottJ,

Thanks for your attention to this problem.

I keep hanging on with each new release in anticipation of this problem getting fixed. As a courtesy to me and your user community for problems such as these, please let us know if it's going to be fixed or not. If it is within a reasonable period of time, then I'll continue to wait. If esignal just doesn't think it's a high priority issue and it's not going to be fixed anytime soon, that's ok with me as well. Just let me know. I'll decide to either stay with esignal charting, go back to my old TS2K with Global Server and esignal datafeed, or move on to some other platform.

          Thanks,
          Kent

When we get the word from Engineering on a timetable for a fix, we'll absolutely pass it along to everyone interested.

            Thanks.
