Import data

I have intraday data for the last 5 yrs but I cannot use it in esignal. Is it possible to add the option to import data from a data file in the next version of esignal ?

Hi Mark,

There currently aren't any plans to implement this functionality into eSignal. All tick, intraday, and daily data is recalled from our servers exclusively. Thanks.

...and the next question would be, can someone recommend a 3rd party charting sw as (or more) flexible as esignal's "advanced charts" that would accept external/imported data files csv/excel.

I cannot recommend any other 3rd party charting sw.

I also would like to have more data available for backtesting - either from eSignal servers or via an import function into eSignal.

Having longer time series of data available is crucial for developing reliable trading strategies.

Perhaps try Tradestation. There you can import almost anything and it works very well with Esignal realtime or EOD feed.
