Data in volume pane wrong? (tickview)

Hi,

I am new to eSignal.
My question is on the advanced chart in tick interval.

As far as I understand the volume data in the volumepane and in the small data window is shown for the black dots where trades are indicated. So volume should only be indicated where black dots are. But the is also volume indicated where no trades/black dots are.

I would like to check the tradeability of my Whealthlab backtests on the tickdata but getting a little confused with this volume thing...
