Canadian Symbol Formats

Using Symbol Lookup the following is shown for these two Canadian stocks:
Transcanada Pipe: TCA.PR.X
and
Transcanada Power: TPL.UN

When I add the "-TC" suffix the symbols are not accepted.
What are the correct symbol formats?

Your question is a great example of why we're so excited about the new Symbol Search Engine in 7.7 (currently in beta). Your search results would have looked like this:



We still have some work to do before this is ready for final production but since we support close to a hundred exchanges, we're pretty confident this new engine will become a very popular tool. Pretty cool, heh?

FWIW that is exactly the tool I used for both searches. For the other stock I simply set up a search for Symbol tpl* using Canadian OTC as the Exchange filter and in a few seconds I had both results. Very cool
