Can't Use Backtesting

Hi,
I was trying to use the backtest tool with one of the sample scripts today and I got an error message saying "Unable to load XML document into the parser".
What does this mean?
What do I need to do?

BTW I'm using ver 7.5 build 628 and this is the first time using the backtest tool.

I came across this one about a month or so ago. The issue in that case was a severely underpowered computer. Could you provide your computer specs, we can work from there. You may want to consider upgrading to the latest version of eSignal (7.6). You also may want to take a look at the System Requirements needed to run eSignal efficiently. Please let me know.

My Internet Explorer is ver 6.0.2800.
I upgraded eSignal to ver 7.6(Build 636A) but it still doesn't work.
The same messages come out.

My PC is AthlonXP 2500+, 1GB memory, using Windows XP Home Edition. More than 3GB left on my harddisk.
Matrox Millenium G450 with two 17" monitors(1280x1024)
Internet connection speed is about 20-30Mbps.

Do I need to select something in the IE preferences?

I can't think of anything else that may be causing this but you may not have Java loaded in Windows XP. Try downloading and installing Java from this link: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Also in IE , click on the Advanced Tab and make sure that everything under Microsoft VM is checked. Restart pc. Let's see how this works for you.

I do have Java installed, and I'm sure it's working OK because I use the Interactive Broker Trader Workstation which runs on it.

I didn't have the checks on Microsoft VM, so I checked 'em and restarted my PC, but I'm still in the same situation.

Now what else can it be?

I think I've got it working now.
There seemed to be a problem with the directory name in the automatic directory naming portion.

Hello everybody,

I have the same problem with some efs, not all.
Checked and tried all your suggestions, upgraded esignal to version 7.6 and it still doesn't work.

If you have any suggestion that would be great !
